New service concept for those who want to be healthier by eating better
Prangins, VD, 09 February 2009. LaimaDinner Sàrl is launching a new delivery service for those who cook for the families. The new concept addresses three main topics of increasing interest to the society:
- Balanced food for the whole family, improvement of eating habits and contributing to public health (increased variety of grains, beans, high quality vegetal origin protein and fiber)
- Majority of the products come from local bio/eco producers (increased variety of local vegetables, seasonal, fresh for the customers and support to the local farmers)
- Beneficial for our environment: reduction of red meat consumption, less food wasted, less shopping trips by car (all influences CO2 emissions)
LaimaDinner is a delivery service that facilitates planning, shopping for, and cooking of family dinners. Weekly delivery packages contain products and cooking instructions for five dinners for a family of four. The customers do not need to worry about inventing recipes and about getting to the supermarket before it closes. Cooking instructions are easy to follow even for an inexperienced cook. Average cooking time per meal is about 40 minutes.
Company History: Founder of the company Laima Tikuisiene is a medical doctor, a mother of two, with a past corporate career and a history of changing life-style and loosing 35kg of weight. She decided to offer her experience of creating healthy, tasty meals to those who are pressured with hectic after work or weekend shopping and inventing what to cook on a daily basis. “I believe that one of the corner stones of the family life is a healthy attitude towards food and healthy eating habits. If we can get this right with our children they will be set for life. We can make a difference in public health by implementing better eating habits in the families. Reasonable use of red meat, reduction of food waste and less shopping trips, as well as using more locally produced products, is our investment in environment protection as well” says Mrs. Tikuisiene.
